Times Square to Town Square: TOTE Maritime Alaska Supports ACPA’s Vision

ANCHORAGE, August 11, 2023 — HAMILTON will soon take center stage at the Performing Arts Center in Anchorage. The Tony award-winning play begins August 17 and kicks off Broadway Alaska’s inaugural season at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (ACPA). As transportation sponsor for the season, TOTE Maritime Alaska LLC (TOTE) is a key part of getting freight for the HAMILTON tour to Alaska.

“The extraordinary collaboration that has taken place to bring HAMILTON to Alaska is nothing short of miraculous! It is truly a logistics accomplishment that has seen the production move across the country via multiple modes of transportation from truck, air and finally by sea. We are so grateful to TOTE Maritime Alaska for their support of our vision to bring Times Square to Town Square. TOTE’s generosity with shipping ‘Hamilton’ to Alaska will have a critical impact on our entire season of Broadway shows and beyond,” said Codie Costello, president and chief operating Officer at ACPA and general manager for Broadway Alaska.

The first truck with cargo for the HAMILTON tour will arrive at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, August 14 with additional arrivals on Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16. Some of that cargo moved north on a TOTE vessel from Tacoma, Washington, at the end of July and is currently being stored at the Port of Alaska.

“We’ve been shipping to communities throughout Alaska since 1975 and have a long history of supporting organizations that make Alaska a great place to live. We are honored to be part of setting the stage for HAMILTON and a successful Broadway Alaska season,” said Art Dahlin, vice president and Alaska general manager for TOTE Maritime Alaska.

In total, the HAMILTON tour involved comprehensive logistics support to move four advance trailers, seven set trailers and three show-to-show trailers from three different locations: New Mexico, Puerto Rico and Nebraska.

“I want to say thank you from everyone at Alaska Center for the Performing Arts and Broadway Alaska – we are proud to be in the room where it happens with TOTE Maritime Alaska by our side,” Costello said.
